Do you own an empty commercial property? 

The Vale of Glamorgan Council may be able to assist you in bringing it back into use with the following:  

• Matching Service 
   Helping you to find a business tenant via our database of contacts.
• Converting from Commercial to Residential  

  If you are thinking of converting a commercial property into a residential (subject to planning consent) then we may be able to help you with an Interest Free Empty Property Landlord Loan

   

  Link you to a Registered Social Landlord who may be able to work with you or may be interested in buying the property from you.

• Transforming Towns: Town Centre Loan Scheme

  Scheduled to be available for application from September/October 2025.  Assistance will be targeted at long-term empty properties in the primary shopping districts: Cowbridge, Barry, Penarth and Llantwit Major.
