Vale of Glamorgan
The college recognised the Council as a valued partner for over a decade, highlighting our strong and consistent commitment to developing talent through apprenticeships.
Over the course of this partnership, more than 60 apprentices have progressed through programmes across multiple sectors, supported by a flexible approach that blends academic learning with practical experience.
This achievement recognises the work of the Council’s HR and Organisational Development and Learning division, who work closely with services, managers and external partners to create meaningful development pathways.
Their work ensures apprentices are supported to build skills, gain qualifications and contribute positively to service delivery and our communities.
Cllr Rhiannon Birch, Cabinet Member for Education, the Arts and the Welsh Language, said: “This recognition as Employer of the Year is a tremendous achievement for the Vale of Glamorgan Council and one we are incredibly proud to receive. Our long-standing partnership with Cardiff and Vale College has enabled us to invest meaningfully in local talent, creating high-quality apprenticeship opportunities that open doors and change lives. “Apprenticeships are a vital part of our commitment to building a skilled, resilient workforce for the future. They support succession planning, strengthen our services and ensure we continue to deliver for our communities.”
