Potholes

We're making it easier than ever to report potholes in the Vale. Your report helps keep everyone safer.

A pothole is a hole or dip in the road surface. It often happens when water gets into small cracks, then freezes or softens the surface, causing it to break up. Over time, traffic makes it worse.

Report

You can report a pothole by completing our simple, online form. You can pinpoint the location on a map, add photos and write a description to help us locate and deal with the problem. Your completed report will go straight to our highways team to be investigated.

Potholes: At a Glance

The Vale has 1040kms of highway and just like the rest of the UK, highways defects, commonly known as potholes, are on the rise. We spend more money than ever before on repairing potholes. In fact, last year we spent almost an extra £1 million on top of the allocated budget to make sure the roads in the Vale are safe.
