Current collection delays

Before you report a missed collection please check if collections in your area are currently delayed.

Please share this information with friends, families and neighbours who do not have access to the internet.

We are currently running behind on collections in the following areas. If you live in these areas you do not need to report a missed collection. Please leave your recycling or waste out and we will collect it as soon as possible.

If your waste hasn't been collected today but doesn't appear on the below list, please check this page again after 9am the next morning before reporting a missed collection.

Missed waste and recycling collections 

We have changed the way we manage missed collections – you can find all the information you need to know below. 

Before reporting a missed collection, please check the latest collection updates on this page. If we are already aware of delays in your area, there is no need to report your collection as missed, our crews will return as soon as possible (collection updates are added to this page by 9am the following day). 

If your recycling or waste has not been collected, there may be a reason why: 

• your containers were not presented at the collection point before 7am on your collection day  

• the wrong items were placed in a container  

• containers were too full, lids were not fully closed or extra waste or recycling was left beside or on top of bins  

• the wrong container was presented for collection  

If your recycling or waste was not collected for any of the reasons listed above, you will need to correct the issue and present it again on your next scheduled collection day. We will not return before then. 

We will normally arrange a return collection where:  

• The property is registered for assisted collections (this will be checked against our records)  

• Several properties or an entire street has been missed 

• The missed collection is for black bag waste, hygiene waste, or food waste  

We will not arrange a return collection where we have missed recycling from a single property. Please bring it back in and present it again on your next scheduled collection date. Kerbside recycling is collected weekly across the Vale, so your next collection date will not be far away.

  If you report a missed waste or recycling collection, your report will be passed to our waste supervisors for review. We will investigate the issue and contact you within 48 hours* to confirm the outcome, including whether a collection crew will return.

    

  During this time, please leave your waste or recycling at the kerbside in case a return collection can be arranged.

    

  If your recycling has not been collected after 48 hours* of reporting, please bring it back in and present it again on your next scheduled collection date. Kerbside recycling is collected weekly across the Vale, so your next collection date will not be far away.
